The Grant County Bank recently donated $15,000 to the West Virginia Bankers Association's Flood Relief Initiative and $5,000 to the WV Education Alliance's Floods of Support Initiative. Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected.

 Forest Festival 2014   The Grant County Bank participated in the 78th Forest Festival parade held in Elkins, WV. The Grant County Bank float won the Grand Silvia trophy for best overall float.  
 Tri-County Fair 14  

The Grant County Bank participated in the annual Tri-County Fair parade that includes Grant, Hardy and Pendleton counties. 


Gerald R. Sites, Senior Vice President of Loans at GCB, is celebrating a milestone that few do. September 3rd, will commemorate Sites' 50th year with the bank, which predates his employment to September 3, 1963, when he was 19 years old. Sites, now 69, was born and raised at Smoke Hole and graduated from Franklin High School. He attended Potomac State College in Keyser where he studied courses in accounting and law and is, additionally, a graduate of the West Virginia School of Banking. Mr. Sites is a past member of the West Virginia Aeronautics Commission and past chairman and current member of the Grant County Airport Authority and a past West Virginia History Hero. He is also a current member of the West Virginia Public Port Authority and a chartered member of the South Branch Ruritan Club, which he joined in 1962. Other posts Sites holds include Treasurer of the Grant County Farm Preservation, District Supervisor of the Potomac Valley Soil Conservation District and a 30 year stint of service on the Grant County Planning Commission, where he served as a past chairman. Asked about his 50 years of tenure with the GCB, Mr. Sites said he has always been proud to have been employed by the bank and that he has been fortunate and grateful for his co-workers and his customers.

Christina Everly of GCB's Moorefied Office is pictured attending a recent function hosted by Workforce West Virginia in Moorefield. The event was open to the public and particularly to former employees of American Woodmark's manufacturing plant in Moorefield, which will close its operations due to the downturn in the housing market. Numerous businesses and agencies were present to offer Woodmark employees assistance with their financial affairs, as well as completing job applications. Christina was on hand to explain the details involved in rolling a 401K pension over into an Individual Retirement Account.

The bank was represented in the parade by Jerry Sites' Model-A Ford and parade watchers along the route were treated by bank employees to candy canes, caps and piggy banks
