The Grant County Bank Highlights Deep Creek Marina as a Small Business Success Story
09/16/2025
The Grant County Bank is proud to spotlight one of its longtime business partners, Deep Creek Marina, located on the shores of Deep Creek Lake in McHenry, Maryland.
Over twenty years ago, Adrian Spiker II purchased two marinas that were in rough condition and transformed them into what is now Deep Creek Marina, a full-service lakeside destination offering boat sales, rentals, storage, lakeside service, and a full retail store. The property also includes two sister businesses: Monkey Business Adventure Park and Deep Creek Fun Zone, making it a go-to hub for both locals and tourists enjoying the lake.
Head Manager Jordan Meekins leads the marina team with a focus on creating a high-quality customer experience. “We’re all about fast, friendly service and making lake life as easy and fun as possible,” said Meekins. “We pride ourselves on the fact that people leave here feeling like they had a great experience. Whether it’s the guy bringing in his boat for repair, someone renting for the first time, or a regular coming in to buy gear, we want everyone to feel taken care of.”
Deep Creek Marina offers two unique membership opportunities:
- Carefree Boat Club, which allows members to enjoy boating without the responsibility of owning a boat
- The Marina Club, a private membership experience with exclusive perks like an on-site restaurant, private bar, and special events such as their popular Fourth of July celebration
The business thrives on personal connections and consistent service. “We’re big enough to serve people but small enough to know them,” said Meekins.
Salesman Harry Browning, who has been part of the Deep Creek Marina team for nearly 20 years, says the team’s commitment to people is what keeps them coming back. “I’ve been here almost two decades, and I can tell you it’s the relationships that matter. We treat people how we’d want to be treated. We’ve had customers buy three, four boats from us over the years. They know we stand by what we sell.”
He added, “What’s different here is we do the small things. We make sure your boat's clean when you pick it up, we take the time to explain things. A lot of places rush you out, not here.”
Deep Creek Marina has continued to grow with support from The Grant County Bank. “The Grant County Bank is the easiest bank to work with and Lindsey Teets is the best loan officer we’ve ever dealt with. I even told another bank they need to be more like The Grant County Bank,” said Meekins.
Lindsey Teets, Assistant Vice President and Commercial Lender at the bank’s Davis location, has worked closely with Deep Creek Marina for many years. Known for his responsiveness, transparency, and deep understanding of his clients’ needs, Lindsey has become a trusted partner for Adrian and his team. “He genuinely wants to help your business succeed, and you can tell,” Meekins added. “He’s part of the reason we’ve been able to grow like we have.”
Here’s to many more summers of lake fun and strong community partnerships.
